Good afternoon,
Recently, we have been receiving many questions from agricultural partners and local and state decision makers about the digital revolution that is taking place in food and agricultural production in Ohio. Increasing demand for connectivity will likely impact infrastructure in communities, as well as agricultural profitability and environmental sustainability.
Fortunately, we have experts in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) to help us understand why connectivity is critical not only for food security, but for the future of the agriculture industry in Ohio. Ohio State University Extension and CFAES Government Affairs wanted to share this informational video with county commissioners and county administrators, to help you as you make decisions about digital infrastructure in your communities. In the video, experts from CFAES’s Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering, Dr. Scott Shearer and Dr. John Fulton, share why connectivity will be vital for rural and urban food production.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Adam Ward at ward.311@osu.edu, or Ellen Essman at essman.23@osu.edu.
Thanks, on behalf of Dean Cathann Kress and The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
